Dawn at Grey Fenn Beach

Hi all,

This represents something of a departure for me (what a liberty!) but really it is! No fiery reds of finger singeing hues in sight....rather a muted palette to reflect the subject, namely...

A grey dawn on Grey Fenn Beach..

Which incidentally is an invention of my imagination! Actually this is my first attempt at evoking that cold morning atmosphere usually only seen by the winkle pickers and those chronic insomniacs out on an un-godly constitutional!

I built this one up in a succession of acylic layers, developing the foreground to create depth and using a dry brush to create those rather edible clouds! Ok...so the birds were perhaps a tad hmm…clichéd? But hey...they effectively introduce both movement and atmosphere and I’m not knocking those. In this case the end result certainly justified the eh…means!

Catch you later

Shirley
